Avery Institute of Afro-American History & Culture

Nonprofit AF is a fun look at the nonprofit world and its quirks. It also puts cultural competency front and center in its discussions. At this link, you will find articles to help you look at your work and nonprofit organization through an equity lens.
YWCA Greater Charleston
YWCA Greater Charleston is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The organization is a leader in working toward racial justice and partners with other organizations in the community. They periodically hold racial justice events, and offer a training through the Racial Equity Institute.
The Sophia Institute
The Sophia Institute created the Social Justice, Racial Equity Collaborative to convene and align respective goals, resources, and audiences to maximize the collective impact for social justice and racial equity. Your organization may be one of the engagement partners, or you may have a member of staff serving on the leadership council. They periodically offer community conversations that serve to raise awareness about the disparities in the Lowcountry.
